Mesh types

Deciding what type of mesh is probably the most inportant decision in terms of security. There are basicly 6 types of mesh typically used on security and screen doors.

For High security Applications Use

Stainless Steel, Galvanized or perforated mesh

Stainless steel mesh

This is the strongest of the meshes available. it is a woven mesh using 316 marine grade stainless steel powdercated in black. it is used in all our Screen Guard doors and our SS1 steel door.

Strongest of the meshes available

Has passed the shear test and impact test.

Can not be cut with a knife

It is virtually see through

It requires less mainenance than all the other meshes

Highly recomended for coastal ares

Galvanized steel mesh

This is a very strong mesh. it is a woven mesh and looks identical to Stainlesss Steel and powdercated in black. It our most popular mesh and very afordable.

Can not be cut with a knife

Has very goor impact strenght.

It is virtually see through

It requires more mainenance than Stainless steel mesh

Not recomended for coastal ares

Very cost effective

Perforated Aluminium Mesh

This is a very strong mesh. it is a 3mm flat aluminium sheet which has 2mm holes through out the sheet and powdercated in black.

Very Strong mesh

Can not be cut with a knife

Has very goor impact strenght.

Will ristrict some light penitration

Easy to clean

Good for coastal ares

Tuff Aluminium Mesh

This is a very fine aluminium mesh. Not suitable with cats, dogs etc

Can esyily be cut with a knife

Has no impact strenght.

Very see through

Easy to clean

Good for coastal ares

Mainy used to keep insects out

One way mesh

This specialy perforated mesh is specificly designed for perple in the house to see out and restricting outsiders from looing in. Also known as DVA and limited vision mesh.

Features

Stroger than Tuff mesh

Comes in a range of colours and matched to frame

Can be cut with a knife

Has very poor impact strenght.

Will ristrict some light penitration

Difficult to clean

Good for coastal ares

Very cost effective

The effectivness of the one way vision is enhanced by lighter colours. The darker the colour the less efective it is.
